haibao robot delivered a half-pipe jacket welding system to Jingjin Equipment in Shandong. The system combines twin TIG torches, laser seam tracking and heavy-duty turning rolls for long helical fillet welds on stainless steel reactor shells.
A half-pipe jacket follows a helical path around the vessel. Rotation and axial torch movement must remain coordinated over the entire seam. Thin stainless half-pipe walls also require controlled heat input and appropriate gas shielding to manage distortion and surface oxidation.
A column-and-boom welding unit carries the two torches, while turning rolls rotate the shell. Tracking sensors detect seam position, and a pressure-roller arrangement supports fit-up between half-pipe and shell. Stored recipes organize settings by diameter, half-pipe size and material.
The source describes a configurable system for 700–3,000 mm shell diameters and lengths up to 6,000 mm, with half-pipe sizes including 76, 89 and 108 mm. These figures describe the reported equipment family; load capacity, travel and process options are confirmed in the project technical agreement.
For the reported 6 m reactor application, the source gives a reduction from 3–5 days of manual work to 8–12 hours and a 99.8% first-pass inspection result. These are customer-project figures with a particular workpiece and inspection basis, not universal performance guarantees. New proposals require representative trials and agreed acceptance criteria.
Send shell and half-pipe drawings, material grades, wall thicknesses, fit-up tolerances, inspection requirements and target output. Ask us to review torch arrangement, tracking and a realistic full-cycle estimate.
