haibao robot · EQUIPMENT PLANNING
A useful equipment plan starts with the vessels you intend to manufacture. haibao robot organizes the line around material flow, joint preparation, forming, welding and inspection so that each machine supports the next operation.
The shell route runs from plate cutting and edge preparation to rolling, longitudinal seam welding, roundness correction, fit-up and circumferential welding. Heads follow a separate preparation and nozzle-opening route before joining the shell line. Crane access and transfer aisles must remain clear throughout the layout.
1. Cutting and bevel preparation: CNC cutting, plate shearing and pipe beveling, with robotic 3D cutting where appropriate. 2. Shell forming: plate rolls, fit-up tooling and rotators. 3. Head manufacture: presses, spinning, trimming and beveling, or qualified external supply. 4. Welding: longitudinal, circumferential, flange and half-pipe systems plus supporting manual equipment. 5. Heat treatment where required by the material, design and procedure. 6. Machining for tube sheets, flanges and nozzles. 7. Suitable NDT capability. 8. Pressure and leak-testing equipment. 9. Surface preparation, coating, lifting, compressed air and other utilities.
Robotic 3D cutting supports repeatable head and shell openings. A piano-key longitudinal seam welder holds the joint along its length. Plasma-plus-TIG systems can be considered for suitable materials and joints, while combined longitudinal and circumferential systems share resources across different vessel sizes. Reactor manufacturers can add dedicated half-pipe forming and jacket-welding equipment.
A smaller workshop can focus on core cutting, rolling, welding, handling and inspection, using qualified subcontractors for selected large or infrequent operations. A broader product range may justify in-house head forming, tube-sheet drilling, additional welding stations and heat treatment. Higher volumes can support robotic loading, seam tracking and integrated production control.
Compare complete cycle times, labor, consumables, rework, equipment utilization and annual ownership costs. Separate one-time investment from recurring cost per vessel. The original planning material uses local currency and specific assumptions; it should not be treated as a universal payback forecast.
Inspection, heat treatment, procedure qualification and documentation depend on the vessel design, material and destination-market requirements. Equipment selection alone does not establish certification or manufacturing approval. Final layout and acceptance criteria should be agreed with the buyer’s engineering and quality teams.
Send your main vessel types, maximum diameter and plate thickness, materials, annual output, factory layout and required manufacturing specifications.
