CNC Hole and Bevel Cutting for Pressure Vessel Heads

Nozzle openings in a dished head follow a curved surface. haibao robot offers CNC cutting equipment that coordinates torch movement and orientation to produce openings and prepare weld bevels on vessel heads and shells.

Where the equipment is used

The source application covers chemical pressure vessels, energy equipment, shipbuilding and offshore fabrication. Workpieces include cylindrical shells, conical sections, elliptical heads and other curved surfaces within the selected machine envelope.

Cutting the opening and the weld preparation

A multi-axis system guides the torch around the intersection contour while changing its orientation for the required bevel. The head-cutting platform described in the source is the 1200M family. Its configuration must be matched to the workpiece geometry, material and required cutting process.

From part geometry to a verified cut

Define the head profile, opening diameter, nozzle angle, offset and weld preparation before programming. Workpiece positioning and a representative trial cut establish the usable process window. Dimensional inspection of the opening and bevel is part of acceptance; the machine designation alone does not define a guaranteed tolerance.

More than head openings

Within its working envelope, the system can also address shell openings, pipe intersection profiles and plate bevel preparation. Combining these tasks may reduce repeated manual marking and handling, but each part family needs its own fixtures and cutting settings.
