Cutting an opening is only the start of preparing a vessel head for a nozzle. Hole geometry, position and weld preparation must support the following fit-up operation. The Guangzhou Lizhili project brings these tasks together in a robotic head cutting application.
The original project account describes an HB3600 head cutting robot with a water-curtain plasma cutting arrangement for dished and hemispherical heads. The recorded cutting tasks include circular holes, elongated openings and bevel preparation. The photographs show the workstation and a processed head.
Head alignment, the workpiece axis and the local surface orientation all affect the cutting path. A suitable setup must give the torch access to the required openings while maintaining the approach needed for the specified bevel. Forming variations should be considered when confirming the locating method.
Representative trial cuts should be checked for hole location, cut condition and nozzle fit-up. Send haibao robot head dimensions, materials, thicknesses, hole drawings and bevel requirements to discuss a suitable robotic cutting configuration.
